What it is
Road safety funding programs pay for treatments at locations with a demonstrated crash problem — but the funding is competitive and evidence-driven. This service prepares the engineering case: identifying eligible sites, analysing the crash history, developing a treatment, and assembling the benefit–cost and supporting material a submission needs. The best-known program is the Australian Government Black Spot Program, which funds safety works at locations where serious crashes have occurred or are at risk.

The Australian Government Black Spot Program is active in 2026–27, providing around $150 million per year nationally, including a Victorian round of $48 million across 60 locations and a Queensland round of $30.2 million across 44 locations (verified 2026-07-31). Program details and criteria are re-checked before every submission, because rounds and criteria change.
