Queensland's transport framework differs from Victoria's in ways that matter to how work is prepared:
Development applications, not planning permits
Queensland development is assessed as a development application (DA) under the Queensland planning framework, typically by the local council. The terminology and process differ from Victoria's planning-permit system, and our reports are prepared to the Queensland process.
State-controlled roads and TMR
Where a development affects a state-controlled road, the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is involved. TMR's Guide to Traffic Impact Assessment is the reference standard for traffic impact assessments on the state-controlled network, and a common trigger is where a development adds materially (broadly, more than around 5%) to critical movements on a state-controlled road (verified 2026-07-31).
RPEQ — Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland
Queensland requires professional engineering services in or for Queensland to be provided by, or under the direct supervision of, a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) (Professional Engineers Act 2002 (Qld)), and TIAs on the state-controlled network are expected to be certified by an RPEQ. This is a genuine credential filter Queensland clients rightly apply. For Queensland projects we engage engineers who hold the registration Queensland requires — including RPEQ certification where the work calls for it — confirmed for each engagement at scoping.

How delivery works
Queensland projects are delivered through a considered remote-working model — genuine engineering capability brought to your project at distance. For each engagement we engage engineers who hold the registration Queensland requires, including RPEQ certification where the work calls for it, confirmed at scoping. Our project teams are assembled around the needs of each engagement; where a site inspection or local data is needed, we arrange it. This is a deliberate, capable delivery model — not a limitation — and it lets us bring senior traffic and transport engineering to Queensland, delivered through a considered remote-working model rather than a local shopfront. We are explicit that we do not maintain a staffed Queensland office; what we bring is the engineering.
